Impressions of the international dance troupe DERIDA from Bulgaria

Ádám Frigy ‘Coming to the festival as such is generally a big chance for us as performers, even more so considering the fact that INFANT is such a great festival. It is a chance to meet people who have similar worldviews and make new contacts with people who work in the same field. This is our first time here and I am sorry we can’t see the rest of the programme, because there are some very good troupes who will perform.’

Jungin Lee: ‘It was a kind of pressure to come and perform here with the project such as ASA at the INFANT festival, but, nevertheless, once I was on the stage, the audience gave me such a great energy that all the pressure was gone. This is a rather big festival, and the organisation is matching this level, so we, the performers, could focus on the performing. I noticed that INFANT is a rather big festival, with an international character, but that there are only companies from Europe. Next year, I’d like to see troupes from Asian countries appearing at the festival, because theatrical scene there is very dynamic and I think that the audience here would find it interesting.

Ádám Frigy: ‘The city of Novi Sad is very nice, especially the centre and the Petrovaradin Fortress. The atmosphere is great, and the people are very friendly. It’s a pity we have no time to stay longer. I’d definitely like to come back next year either as a performer to INFANT or as a tourist.’

Jungin Lee: ‘Yes, the city is beautiful and I’m very sorry I won’t be able to see the rest of the programme at this year’s INFANT.’
