     Studied Germanic Languages in Brussels and started at the University of Brussels as a junior researcher on contemporary theatre. Moved to Antwerp University and got a doctoral degree with a Phd on Performance Analysis. Now professor of Theatre Studies at Antwerp University and on the Academy of Scenography.

     Founded AISTHESIS a research centre on Body and Language together with Jan Fabre. Aim is to bring together theorists and artists to study processes of the body in contemporary art. Published many articles and books on contemporary theatre. Among others: 'Bodycheck. Relocating the Body in Contemporary Performance Art' (Rodopi); 'Corpus Jan Fabre' (Imschoot); 'Performance, Transformance, Informance'(CFK).

     Collaborated with Jan Fabre as a dramaturg on 'Tannhauser' (2004) and 'History of the Tears' (2005). Co-Founder of the Belgian theatre magazine ETCETERA and curator of the Theatre Festival.
