Yesterday night in Cankarjev Dom, the Goran Bogdanovski quartet broke through the cultural sound barrier
… Superimposing the most noble dance tradition and indicating a refined perception of existence, he created a multi-visual  show, accompanied by spontaneous ovation. … Steps while heroically raising legs, swift coming to stands, victorious dance in a wild cacophony of sounds that recedes as a slender echo in the desert of universe. Finally only people, real beings remain in front of us to breathe their global dance promotion.

The SWET AND SOOT production focuses on the exploration of movement, sound, and lighting; in comparison with his first production it is freer of theatrical components… Very demanding from the viewpoint of movement but nevertheless excellently performed, this work effectively combines all staging elements and presents a quality leap forward in the work of Bogdanovski and his crew in general.

Uniformly dressed in ribbed light T-shirts and skirts, the ballet dancers were – paradoxically – incredibly free in their cosmic timelessness. … If Goran Bogdanovski’s dancers used to be ballet dancers in football boots, here we simply have ‘a rhythm-machine ballet’, unpretentious and also humorous, and precisely therefore worth to be seen.

..SWET AND SOOT is the second author work of Goran Bogdanovski, 1971,  the member of Ljubljana Opera and Ballet for over ten years. The premiere of his first production 1:0 was in January 2000 in the National Opera and Ballet. In this year’s season, he performed several distinguished roles in his ensemble: among them, Rotbarth in Swan’s Lake and Petkovsek in the ballet Mad Painter of Vlasto Dedovic. Since 1991, he collaborates in parallel with authors on the non-institutional dance and theater scene. The performance Sweat and Soot inaugurates him also as the founding member of the new dance group Fico Ballet, with currently three more dancers of Ljubljana Opera and Ballet that have collaborated with Bogdanovski already in his first production:
..Damjan Mohorko, 1979, became the member of the Ballet ensemble in Ljubljana four years ago, after concluding his studies in Ljubljana and Vienna. He danced several solo roles: in Coppelia at Montmartre, as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliette, as Puck in Midsummer Night’s Dream and Devil in Devil and Trumpet. He also takes part in non-institutional productions in Ljubljana.
..Dejan Srhoj, 1978, also became the member of Ljubljana Opera and Ballet after graduating from Ljubljana Ballet School and the internship in Munich. In the last three years, he performed most of the leading roles, such as Kashchey in Fire Bird, the Prince in Sleeping Beauty and the Prince in Swan’s Lake.
..Goran Tatar, 1970, took the engagement in Ljubljana Opera and Ballet after five years of football practice and the graduation from ballet school. He danced several remarkable roles in Coppelia at Montmartre, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Mr. Gershwin, The Taming of the Shrew, Swan’s Lake and Mad Painter.
