Led by: Stéphane Brodt, Brazil

Number of participants: 20 (actors, dancers, performers)

The principles applied when working with masks invite actors to break up with the naturalist and psychological manner of acting and enter the empty stage left with their own bodies, imagination and feelings as the only source. Corporal precision of theatrical performance with masks, its simplicity and honesty is what forms the base of performers’ work. The workshop is aimed at exploring masked performance, developing, stimulating, inspiring imagination, fantasy, stage presence and physical engagement of actors. Traditional Balinese masks, well-known around the world, will be used in the workshop.
