EDEN juxtaposes two worlds that are simultaneously present in the meeting between a performer and an audience. The here and now of the theatrical meeting collides with the realm of images that hover in the spaces within, outside and in-between the bodies. Working with these images through a figure of a clown, EDEN collides opposites and stages paradoxes playfully and with a sense of humor. EDEN is not a blissful state of rest. EDEN is a place of healing with a razorblade.

Mala Kline (SLO/BE) is a performer, choreographer, researcher and writer. She holds BA in philosophy and comparative literature (UL, Ljubljana) and MA in theater (DasArts, Amsterdam). Her own author-based work is embedded in technology of dreaming – creative and performative practice based on the affective and transformative performance of image. She is extensively engaged in different research, educational, publishing and founding activities. She founded EMANAT – institute for affirmation of contemporary dance in Slovenia, SOI Slovenia for dissemination of dream and imagery work throughout EU, and recently DREAMLAB – mobile laboratory for research and development of imagery and dream work as related to performing arts practices.
The Pekinpah Association is a multi-awarded non governmental organisation in culture that unites professional designers, theoreticians, musicians, architects, dancers & choreographers that are active in the field for numerous years. Kink Kong - dance section of the Pekinpah Association produces, manages & promotes works of three exceptional Slovenian choreographers and dancers: Mala Kline, Leja Jurišić & Matej Kejžar. Emerged by working for companies such as Rosas, Ultima vez, Damaged goods and En-Knap these talented artists have since then developed their own unique choreographic language. Pekinpah / Kink Kong has produced shows with coproducers such as Hellerau, Dresden, Germany, Tanzquartier Wien, Austria, TanzHaus NRW, Dusseldorf, Germany, Dansens Hus, Stockholm, Sweden. The shows of the dance section have been regularly touring in nearly all countries of the European Union. The members of the section have been awarded several awards, such as Ksenija Hribar Award: Choreographer of the Year (2013), Producer of the Year (2013), Best performance (2013), Best set design (2012, 2013) etc.

In ‘EDEN’ Kline and her colleagues created a touching as well as surprising ‘quest for heaven’ – but without flirting with promises of otherworldly salvation. Instead, they put at risk the here and now, the unity of body and voice, sound and movement, animal and spiritual.
