PRESENTATION OF THE CLEAR BROOKS FAMILY’S WORK AND THE ‘ŠUMES’ FESTIVAL:
Projection of the film about the festival of theatre avant-garde in the forest ‘Šumes’ – Aesthetics of Savagism

Art that looks like art is not art at all.
B. M.

The presentation focuses on the ‘Šumes’ festival, which has been held for 13 years in the home of the Clear Brooks Family. There people eat, sleep, discuss philosophy and make theatre plays together. Sometimes the stage is a brook, sometimes a tree top, sometimes a stone house...

The Clear Brooks Family hones the aesthetics of savagism whose expressivity focuses on reaching one’s own self and delivering from one’s own self. What is needed is not acting but to be honest and express one’s own being. Rhythm, duration and energy are a holy trinity of their aesthetics. Denuded man still bears ontological qualities that have not vanished in him. Compared to the progress of technology, man is still not an inferior phenomenon.
